Green Beans with Red Potatoes and Turkey Ham

This is old country favorite and I have recreated it today. I can remember snapping green beans in the kitchen with my mom when I was young.

2 1/2 pounds fresh green beans
2 1/2 pounds small red potatoes cubed
1 small onion minced
1 Jennie-O turkey ham cubed
8 cups of broth (I used the left over lamb stock from the grape leaves)
2 cups of water
4 quart slow cooker or heavy stockpot.

Snap the ends off of the green beans and snap the large ones in half. Scrub the potatoes well and cut into cubes. Cube the turkey ham. Mince the onions. Place all of this into the slow cooker or stockpot. Add the liquid, cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours. If you are cooking on the stove be sure to stir it occasionally so they don't stick to the bottom of the pot and burn. Serve this with some yeast rolls, corn bread or any kind of bread that you love. You can make this a side dish or a main course. For more on this recipe or any others please email me at alesia.leach@gmail.com
